英國glam rock ( 華麗搖滾 ) 樂團The Sweet成立於1968， 樂團初期和寫歌製作團隊Mike Chapman & Nicky Chinn合作，雖然打開了一些包含國際的知名度，但被形塑的樂團曲風，並非團員們所喜歡，故而想走自己的路。此首《Fox on the Run》為由樂團的四位團員，首度自行創作的歌曲。唯首錄版亦由Chapman & Chinn 製作，而樂團之後重錄，也自此和該製作團隊分道揚鑣。此曲於1975發行單曲，分獲英、美排行榜的第2及第5名。

PS：glam rock於70年代初期流行於英國，其特色除了華麗的奇裝異服，團員也會做性別混淆的妝扮。

眾所周知，Fox的意思是「狐狸」，而也用來指「吸引人的女性 ( 狐狸精？)」。歌曲中的Fox，其實說的是一位女性「追星族」，不斷地追著樂團跑，而其行徑並未能獲得寫此歌詞團員的認同，不僅對她所談論的事毫無興趣，甚至連她的名字都不想知道，應該是所謂的「恐怖粉絲」吧！

 

此曲被引用在多部電影中：《Dazed and Confused》/ 1994 ( 台譯：年少輕狂 )、《Detroit Rock City》/ 1999 ( 台譯：搖滾新世代 )、《When in Rome》/ 2010 (台譯：羅馬不思議 )、《Catch .44》/ 2011 (台譯：藥命殺陣 ) 等，另由於此曲在2017的電影《Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2》( 台譯：星際異攻隊 2 ) 中作為插曲，而使得此曲於40年後的2016年尾 ( 應該是受到預告片的影響 )，在媒體音樂 iTunes的rock排行榜，又再度登上了冠軍的位置。
