Hi dear, how are you doing recently?
Just want to tell you that I moved down to Taichung already for a week.
Now I live with other players in the dormitory.
Not like the players, I got my own room.
It's a good place though I spent only two nights in the dorm last week.
There’s a driving range right beside the dorm. Hopefully I can learn how to play golf starting from here.
In addition to the driving range, there’s a baseball practice field, weight training room, and one swimming pool around the dorm.
What a fabulous place! Don’t have to worry about what I’m going to do after work.
These facilities make my losing-weight plan easier. Next time when you see me, don’t be surprised that I become slim and strong.
The only shortcoming of the place is that there’s no kitchen. From my perspective, kitchen is the heart of “home”.
My family doesn’t go to the restaurant very often. We always stay home and have my mom’s homemade dishes.
To me, eating homemade foods makes me feel at home. Therefore I cooked a lot during the two years when in the States.
But now, I can’t do my “cooking experiment” here. Every meal depends on outside source.
Although there are tons of selection and the prices are not high (compare to Taipei), I just don’t feel comfortable about it.
No kitchen is not the only bad news; there’s no frige and internet access either.
Plus, the tv cable is not stable. Can’t complain more since the place is free. I don't have to pay a penny for the rent.
The weak points mentioned above can’t be regarded as all negative.
From the positive side, I can do some reading and composition without outside disturbance.
You know what, there has been one idea slipped my mind: how about buying an apartment in Taichung?
Since loaning rate is low and Taichung’s estate is rising, there’s no better time for buying a place here.
Well, as I said, the idea just flashed for five seconds. I’ll take it into serious consideration if I marry a local female.
After the living place, let’s talk about my working environment.
In the office, I got one director and several colleagues. Thanks God, there’s no bitchy person.
All of them are nice and easy-going. The best part of the office is the atmosphere;
it’s a little bit sloppy, a little bit lazy, and a little bit funny.
Kind of like American Southern style, people take time and have a relax way of life.
I love this style and I’m convinced I can fit in well.
Besides nice working crew, now I have a superior who let me handle things with my own will.
He not only trusts my ability but ask me to take charge of some important projects.
Sometimes he talks about future development of the franchise with me.
That means a lot to me. It makes me feel I'm a key person here.
Finally, I can do something meaningful and make some contribution to the industry.
That’s the reason why I went to the States for further study.
Furthermore, I wish my intern experience will help improve Taiwan's pro-baseball environment.
Frankly speaking, I don’t know my current boss needs someone to help him when submitting resignation.
When it comes to quit the job, I've thought about change a career. God’s amazing arrangement brings me back to the diamond.
The intrigue thing is my previous bitchy director resigned after I left.
All people in that office said that I will get free if I hang on for another 14 days.
To be honest with you, I won’t go back even the bitchy boss is gone.
Anyway, now I can still work with my beloved baseball.
I sincerely cherish this opportunity. Wish you can cheer for me too, no matter where you are.
Best regards,
Alex
