Nothing can be further away from the truth.

As much as I think I’m a superstar, I am not.


At least not now.

I’m hitting the wall. My body has been pushed all the way to the deepest and darkest corner of my career life to date. It is cold and uneasy. Painful and unpleasant. It is a place that doesn’t elicit any bit of good feeling. I am slammed to the ground, been beaten the crap up, chewed, churned and spat out, it’s no good.

It is a period where confidence is thrown right outside the window. Any bit of self esteem is tossed to the garbage can. It is a depressing feeling that will take the most positivity out of a living man. This sucks. I am not happy.


But that’s not to say I’m thinking any bit of negative about myself.

Because I know this is a transition period that I must go through. Any successful business person will need to go through this period of grinding, toughness, and survivorship.

It is like a butterfly pupa trying to break away from a hard-shelled chrysalis, before it can spread its wings and fly. A baby going through the struggles to climb out of a mother’s womb, before she is welcomed to the colourful world. A period when starting runners feel that they’re always out of breath and their legs are killing them. Only to find that once they overcome this pain, the running gets so much easier and that they feel like they can run forever. Or like a little kid learning to ride a bike. Sure enough in the beginning he will trip and fall. But after learning how to balance, how to paddle, how to pick up the bike and try again. There are miles of funness in the future ahead.

It is a defining period that defines a great business man from a mediocre one. A period to test what one is made of. To me, this a period to see if I’m worthy of the great fortunes ahead of me. And I’m going to fight with every bit of effort I can squeeze out of myself to battle to the end of it.

I’m at the end of the rope now but I am holding on tight. I feel the pressure coming from not just all sides but myself as well. But I will survive. I will prevail. I will show the world what Wayne Chang is made of. I will let the Universe know how capable I am.

I may not be an all star now but I will work towards being one, that includes:

1) Having a clear and defined goal
2) Having a plan to achieve such goal
3) Having good execution strategies to realize the plan
4) Thinking creatively and strategically - HOW CAN I DO THIS?
5) Believing in myself and knowing there’s a reason why the Universe is putting me through such a test

It will happen. It will come. Don’t sound desperate Wayne Chang. That’s the last you will want out of you. People can pick that up and they will despise you. Be comfortable with who you are, what you can generate, don’t be pushy, be confident, and be yourself.

Know yourself, have a plan, and execute it.

You have a great product in your hand. For those that didn’t pick that up, it’s their loss. You have too little time for people like that. Accolade has done a lot of effort to find their products. This is the one that pays. This is what the market demands. Money will be grown here, people need to come grab it. Let them come to you. It is an opportunity that they can’t miss. It isn’t for everybody, but serve those well that trust you. Cultivate those relationships. Be the man to confront the hardships. Walk across them. Get over the obstacles. Get over the hill. Nothing can stop you. You’re riding on top. Make those phone calls. Get those meetings. Put that confidence in you. Nothing can beat you. This is a test. This is a defining moment in life. You will have to do this yourself. No one can help you. Have a plan. Go out and achieve. Success will be in your hands. This is why you went through College Pro. This is why you’ve been working hard for so long. This is the friction period. This is tough but you can conquer it. Other people are watching. You’re the leader. You’re the man. You’re invincible. You’re going to make this work. So relax your mind. Go out. Be strong. Heads up. Chest out. You’re a cocky guy. You’re Wayne Chang.
