此首《Yes Ma'am ( I Found Her in a Honky Tonk )》為美國鄉村男哥手Glenn Barber所寫，並於1970錄唱，之後收錄在其1972的專輯《The Best of Glenn Barber》中及作為單曲發行，獲得鄉村榜第67名。女歌手Leona Williams和Glenn Barber為同家唱片公司，想來因這層關係，也在1970錄唱及作單曲發行，由於主唱者性別不同，將歌名與歌詞內容做了調整，可惜單曲未能入榜。

Leona Williams曾參與「礦工的女兒」Loretta Lynn的巡演樂隊擔任Bass手及合音。70年代中期，她也加入Merle Haggard的巡演樂隊The Strangers。1978 - 1983，Leona Williams成為Haggard第3任的妻子。Leona Williams在其歌唱生涯成績最佳的歌曲是她和Haggard合唱的《The Bull and the Beaver》( 1978 / #8 )，不過，她卻替Haggard寫過兩首冠軍曲。

2013，Leona Williams將其過去所唱過的82首歌曲合出了 ( 3CD )，名稱即訂為「Yes Ma'am ( He Found Me in a Honky Tonk )」，可見她對此曲的喜愛。Leona Williams絕對是位實力派的歌手，但在鄉村歌壇卻未得到對等的名聲，此3CD發行後，知名歌手包含有Willie Nelson、George Jones、Vince Gill、Tanya Tucker與Rhonda Vincent均給予肯定與推崇，對Leona Williams來說，除了是大大的鼓勵，應也可聊表安慰了。

此曲內容說的是，對方在小酒館認識自己，顯然自己的條件差對方許多，雖然自卑，但仍向對方的母親表明自己是真愛，冀望獲得認同，否則還是會回歸原來的自己。其實在目前的社會，只要當事男女真心相愛，應該是任誰也阻攔不了。
