此首《Christmas Must Be Tonight》為The Band樂團的吉他手兼主唱Robbie Robertson所寫，而主唱此曲的為貝士手Rick Danko，收錄在The Band 1977的專輯《Islands》。

The Band成立初期為美國搖滾歌手Ronnie Hawkins的專屬樂隊 (1960─1964)，後又受僱於Bob Dylan參與巡演 (1965─1967)。1968才開始以The Band團名闖蕩流行音樂界，終至聲名大噪。
