60年代初期，民謠歌手Bob Dylan所作的歌曲像是《Blowing In The Wind》等，深具社會批判意味，很快的就被視為民權及反戰運動的代言人，但他自己並不以為然。

1963及1964年，Bob Dylan兩次參加了新港民謠音樂節 ( Newport Folk Festival )，都是演唱民謠歌曲。但到了1965年，Bob Dylan卻抱著電吉他 ( 註 ) 上場唱了三首歌，由於當時的民謠音樂界對於搖滾樂的出現與盛行普遍感到不滿，故台下是噓聲不斷。而Dylan最後唱的即是此首《It's All Over Now，Baby Blue》，顯然是要對台下支持民謠的聽眾說再見，從此要走他自己喜歡的音樂路。果不其然，自1965之後，Bob Dylan就再也沒有踏上新港民謠音樂節的演唱舞台。

翻唱此曲的樂團和歌手也有不少，像是The Byrds、The Animals、Them ( 奇怪，怎都是英國樂團？)………，還包含被猜測為Baby Blue現實人物的Dylan的情人---民謠皇后Joan Baez。

以下所貼為The Animals的版本，主唱Eric Burdon仍是一貫的英式唱腔，但我想可能有些人會聽不來。 哈哈！

註：Dylan的此把Fender Stratocaster電吉他於該年音樂節後即遺失。2012年，一位住紐澤西州的婦女Dawn Peterson聲稱保有該把電吉他，說此電吉他當年被遺留在私人飛機上，而其父親為該機駕駛，曾試圖連絡樂團經理而未獲回應。
在Dylan與Peterson私下解決了該把電吉他的法律爭議後，此吉他於2013公開拍賣，賣出的價格為96萬5仟美元。
