這首歌原名為《Quinn the Eskimo / 愛斯基摩的昆恩》，是民謠搖滾王子Bob Dylan所寫，但在1967錄為音樂帶後並未正式發行。1968被英國樂團Manfred Mann拿去翻唱，並以《Mighty Quinn / 萬能的昆恩》歌名推出，立即成為大熱門曲，在英國奪得了冠軍寶座，在美國告示牌排行榜則為第10名。

一般咸信，Bob Dylan所創造的歌中人物Mighty Quinn，靈感來自於影星安東尼昆 ( Anthony Quinn ) 在1961的電影「雪海冰上人 / The Savage Innocents」中，所飾演的一位愛斯基摩人的角色。而在歌曲中的Quinn則是一位超凡人物，由於他的到來，能將絕望變為歡樂，混亂變為平靜，同時還能吸引動物來到他的身旁。所以，有許多人認為Mighty Quinn應該是耶穌的化身。而也有人覺得，可以如此萬能轉變境況的，顯然是在影射使用迷幻藥品了。但據Bob Dylan自己引述，說這只不過是一首單純的童歌罷了。



1989有部同名電影「破繭威龍 / The Mighty Quinn」，由丹佐華盛頓主演，影片中也出現此曲，不過被改編成了雷鬼曲風。一直想不起來這首歌當年的中譯歌名，依稀有印象好像是「？？大帝」？
