Tasting - 2010社團四月品酒會 Glengoyne

1.Glengoyne 12yo 43% OB

C: yellow

19 N: some ALC, malty, spices, sweet powder, raw barley, soy milk, caramel

19 T: light -> medium, round, a little spicy and dry, oaky, wood cask, malty, ginger, soy bean

19 F: short, more wood cask and spices, peppers, ginger, cream, so bean

19 B: somehow, but I would rather choose Lasanta than this.

 

2.Glengoyne 18yo 43% OB Scotish Oak Finsih

C: amber

20 N: malty, some leaf, dry tree skin, a little soy bean oil, crème, but not sweet, malty

20 T: medium, spicy, ginger, some chilly? A little smoky? Oil, some banana, orange comes up at the middle of tongue

19 F: short, some soy bean oil, medicine powder, wood cask, a little bitterness at the end

19 B: somehow, less variant, flat, more spicy than 12yo

 

3.Glengoyne 1973/2006 33yo 46.9% 336Bts. OB Scotish Oak Finsih

C: yellow gold

22 N: some raw Japan carrot, very beautiful wood cask, honey, peach, white fruits, citrus

22 T: medium, vanilla, ginger, spices, some citrus, tangerine peels, good tannins, very oil

21 F: medium, some citrus, beautiful wood cask, fresh prune, more spicy at the end

21 B: good balanced, elegant and smooth old bot. but remind some new wood excited

 

4.Glengoyne 1981/2004 22yo 49.1% 234Bts. OB Whisky Fair

C: light yellow

22 N: some dry fruits, peach, pear, pineapple, then some powder, vanilla, few complexes at the end

21 T: medium, a little spicy, white fruits, peach, pineapple, ginger, some wood cask, tenderness

21 F: medium, wood cask, some vanilla, soda biscuit, lemon peelings, tender, gentle but flat, more spices at the end

21 B: balanced both for N & T

 



5.Glengoyne 1972/2006 55% C#90282 372Bts. OB

C: yellow

22 N: 楊桃汁, baked wood, cinnamons, pepper, berry, coconut milk, then a little plum, powder, hogshead? More ALC comes up, hint of sulphurs

22 T: medium -> full, dry and spicy, very good strength and tannins, oil, cream, citrus, tangerine juice, walnut, still hint of sulphurs

22 F: medium, sweet malty, raw barley, fragrance, orange peels, grapefruit, some cocoa, very beautiful oak wood w/ acceptable sulphurs

22 B: good balanced both for N & T. A good bot, still active. Enjoyable!

 

6.Glengoyne 1972/2006 50% C#90284 Miniature 6000Bts. OB

C: yellow

22 N: beautiful wood cask, vanilla, honey apple, a little prune, citrus, banana

21 T: medium, some wood cask, clove, nutmeg, curry, tangerine peels, cream

22 F: medium, vanilla, pineapple, a little coconut, tangerine peels w/ a little bitterness at the end

21 B: good balanced, some wood cask comes up, maybe too few of drops

 

7.Glengoyne 1973/2005 30yo 50.4% C#1536 324Bts. OB

C: deep amber

22 N: medicine powder, syrup, some chocolate, orange, plum, then a little grapefruit, caramel, wet mushroom

23 T: full, round and smooth, a little spicy, caramel, baked almond, liquorices, caramel cake, hint of mint, 紹興酒?

23 F: long, syrup, chocolate, orange, grapefruit, cinnamons, baked wood, very good texture and extension, some dark chocolate at the end

22 B: good balanced, a good sherry bot, still active and complexes, remind me the old Glen Garioch and Glenfarclas

 

8.Glengoyne 1986/2005 19yo 51.5% B#102/600 C#441 OB Ewan’s Choice Sherry Puncheon

C: brown

22 N: deep and rich sherry, chocolate, plum, syrup, some baked wood, brown sugar,

21 T: medium, rich, good texture, very cream, plum, orange, chocolate

21 F: medium, dark chocolate, plum, a little tobacco, but few complexes at the end

21 B: balanced, heavily sherry, few variant at the end

 

C: 這次有機會一次喝到那麼多支Glengoyne的Single Cask,真要感謝仕原兄及Gerry. 個人最喜愛的是Susc兄帶的C#1536, 頗為爭議的一支酒, 不知道Susc兄最近是否有幫他再翻盤了~

1.Glen Garioch 1967/2003 36yo 132Bts. 55.5% DL

C: gold amber

23 N: very beautiful and elegant bourbon, some honey, flora, then some oaky, ginger, 杜松子

21 T: full, beautiful wood cask, ginger, spicy, oaky, elegant and warm

22 F: long, very long, sandal wood, ginger, spices, eucalyptus

22 B: good balanced both for N & T, good extension, complexes, and still variant

2.Beriach 1978/2009 31yo 51.2% B#59/245 C#4414 OB Gaja Barolo Hogshead

C: deep amber

22 N: some plum, chocolate, malty, walnut, a little cinnamon w/ beautiful wood cask

22 T: full, rich and round, some medicine, burn plastics? Orange, strawberry jelly

22 F: long, sandal wood, walnut, white chocolate, good tannins and extension

22 B: good balanced, cask influence? I wonder not.

3.Arran The Peacock 1996/2009 46% OB

C: yellow

22 N: white sugar, vanilla, fresh cream, lemonade, prune, tangerine, some new spirit like

21 T: light, lightly peat sweet? A little spicy, tangerine juice, lemon peels, lime juice

21 F: short -> medium, a little spicy, fresh peppers, new wood cask, fresh lime

21 B: balanced, a good young bot

4. Glengoyne 1973/2004 30yo 240bts C#1543 B#99/240 48.6% OB

C: rose gold

21 N: rose, a little violet, ice wine? honey, raisin, ripe litchi, then some sandal wood apricot, dry fruits. deep, elegant, not awake? maybe too many cask impact

22 T: full, like rum, round and smooth, a little dry, sugar cane, caramel, some wood cask, orange peels. 酒質感覺有點混濁.

21 F: medium, over ripe fruits, peach, pear, butter, w/ some beautiful wood cask at the end

20 B: balanced, flat, few complexes both for T & T, but very easy to drink
