”Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”是美國Neo-Punk樂隊Green day於1997年的作品，筆者初次試聽時已十分喜歡。一行三人的Green Day一貫予人長不大的大孩子的感覺， 唱歌漫不經意；寫詞不經大腦；輕快的節拍不需花太多心思的編排；首首曲也簡簡單單、爽快直接，或者這就是新一代年青人的Punk氣息吧！！

然而，每個人也必須經歷成熟的階段，Green Day亦是，而這首”Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)”便象徵了這三個大孩子正邁向成熟的階段。跟過往耳熟能詳的“When I Come Around”及“Welcome To The Paradise”等名曲顯著不同，沒有了嘈吵節拍的Green Day明顯開始懂人情世故，歌詞寫得不俗。編曲雖依然簡單，但比起以往千篇一律由bassline skip in的曲式更有創意，整首曲基本上都以木結他作伴奏,節奏也是Punk模式的明快，歌者依然是「Punk仔腔」，故此聽起來仍保留著Punk的味道。而在這短短三分鐘的歌裡，最具特色的就是中段很和諧的弦樂獨奏，也是筆者最愛的部份，出來的效果十分絲絲入扣，可見其心思細密的編排，老實講：從來也未見過這樣的Green Day喔。從來也未見過Punk Band可以這樣溫和感性。
