I like these new Vase Shaped Ceramic (Grinding mill). The original Crush Grind ceramic mechanism can handle anything you put in it. We were very surprised to be able to grind spices as soft as lavender sugar, shallots or cardamom pods, where the shell is soft but the inner seeds are hard. Also does any seed; great for Grains of Paradise, cumin, flax, coriander or the basic salt or black pepper.

The best part is that you turn the mill upside down to grind, which means it rests with the grinding mechanism on top, and no spices leak out onto your surface when not in use.
