New York denies the installation of a facial recognition

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) last week denied that there were cameras with facial recognition capabilities at subway stations, just to scare people with evasive thoughts.

The Verge quoted MTA spokesperson Maxwell Young as saying that the monitor screen of Times Square was just to scare the passengers who wanted to evade the ticket. If the public saw that they were on the screen, they would not dare to let go. He reiterated that the cameras on the New York subway have absolutely no face recognition components, software or any technology that can be used to automatically identify people, and there is no plan to add face recognition software to these cameras in the future.
