《Bridget Jone's Diary》中, Bridget Jone連追Mr Darcy兩次, 畫外都響起同一首歌. 幾番尋覓, 原來是Pop-Soul Diva Diana Ross 的《Ain't No Mountain High Enough》. 老天, 我沒有如此年長, 能夠了解甚麼是Diana Ross、the Supremes或Motown.

倒是以前喜歡Diana Ross的《Endless Love》和《Touch me in the morning》. 還是那首耳熟能詳的牛奶公司的廣告歌, 就是Diana Ross的《Do You Know Where You're Going To》, 電影《Mahogany》(霓裳羽衣曲, 1975) 的主題曲.

Diana Ross是那個年代的J.Lo (原諒我要作此比喻), 紅人亦紅戲. 她只演過幾套電影, 卻轉化成自己歌曲事業到達尖峰的標誌. 《Lady sings the Blues》飾爵士傳奇人物Billie Holiday, 還得過奧斯卡提名.《Mahogany》飾演夢想成為時裝設計師的黑人模特兒. 聽聞後者劇本差勁, 連累電影成績不佳. 但trailer卻剪接得不錯, 交待了整個故事內容. 噢, 不得了, 還有騷靈版《綠野仙蹤》(The Wiz) 的Dorothy! 竟然有Michael Jackson參演, 飾演稻草人...

近年Diana Ross見報都圍繞著她醉酒鬧事的新聞. 樂壇歌姬何以亂性! 還是聽回《Ain't No Mountain High Enough》罷...
