The Word


昨天讀到：
Man himself has become our greatest hazard and our only hope.
So that today, St. John the apostle may well be paraphrased: In the end is the Word, and the Word is Man - and the Word is with Men.

The Word，這是西方最著名的話語，我們可以查Webster's 1913 Dictionary{The word}, or {The Word} 在神學上的意思：
(a) The gospel message; esp., the Scriptures, as a
revelation of God. ``Bold to speak the word without
fear.'' --Phil. i. 14.
腓 利 比 書 Philippians 1:14 [hb5] 並且那在主裏的弟兄、多半因我受的捆鎖、就篤信不疑、越發放膽傳　神的道、無所懼怕。 [kjv] And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
(b) The second person in the Trinity before his
manifestation in time by the incarnation; among those
who reject a Trinity of persons, some one or all of
the divine attributes personified. --John i. 1.
約 翰 福 音 John 1:1
[hb5] 太初有道、道與　神同在、道就是　神。
[kjv] In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. / [bbe] From the first he was the Word, and the Word was in relation with God and was God.
1:2 [hb5] 這道太初與　神同在。
[kjv] The same was in the beginning with God. / [bbe] This Word was from the first in relation with God.
