昨天收到這份禮物,是一年前教過的學生最近寫的文章,沒想到我居然也有成為別人筆下主角的一天.回顧我的教書生活,其實有點像靈魂穿了緊身衣的感覺,偶而能流露些許自我的時間,也許就在這可貴的幾門課堂上吧?
The Most Beautiful Spirit I Have Ever Seen

She is the teacher of my first general knowledge class, Modern and Contemporary Fiction, after entering college. Her name is Sabine. She is young but intelligent. I like her very much because of her talent of literature and her attitude toward life. Although I had known her for only two years, I have tried to live for something in these years. Something I really have a passion for; something I’m really willing to be dedicated to. She is an important influence in my life. Undoubtedly, I do appreciate to have such a special teacher in my life.
I had two different courses with her when I was a freshman. The first course I had with her was “Modern and Contemporary Fiction.” I was impressed when I was in my first class because she wanted to listen to students very much. She encouraged us to discuss with each other and express our own opinions no matter how strange or different from the general appraisal our personal reflections were. As a result of her encouragement, I began to interpret the lines of the fictions in different ways. In fact, literature is an important part of my life. I love the special atmosphere between readers and books, and the great space those lines provide for my imagination. However, the Chinese fictions that I had ever read are much more than the western fictions at that time. She aroused my interests about the modern and contemporary fiction. From her masterly and sensible introduction and explanation, I began to have great interests about these wastern style literatures. I have read many modern and contemporary fictions since then, and my interest about them even encourages me to try to read the English versions of them. She broadens my knowledge of literature, and that’s indeed something I’d love to live for.
The second course I had with her was “Movie and Literature.” I saw lots of movies that filed according to the famous literature. That’s an interesting experience because I had never really though about the different or similarities between movies and their original literature. Because of this class, I fell in love with different styles of movies, especially movies which were produced in the period of the new wave in France. I have begun to watch a large number of movies and visited a brilliant small theater “Spot” since then. I enjoy the atmosphere of the theater because it is filled with the smell of art and snatches of really life, which can make me feel complete and fulfilled. ess. However, it might insist in really life.
One year later since I entered the college, she quit her job as a teacher in my school. She had stayed here for eleven years, although she was young. I still can remember what she said in the last class. “When you are in a secure, easy and comfortable environment for a long time, you’ll lose the ability to improve yourself.” After that, I still can hear from her because she has her own website. Her plan was staying at home and being a professional writer. However, I heard that she was pregnant and now her baby is six months old. After being a mother, her style of writing becomes softer but wiser. I like this change very much. I just want to become a woman just like her, a woman who is wise, brave, aware and confident. Beneath her, I saw the most beautiful spirit I had ever seen.
