Truman Show, was produced in 1998, I have watched it for many times. But, every time I watch it, I often come up with different reflections. When watching it for first time, I thought it was a boring movie, but, now, it becomes meaningful to me. In my mind, good movies are worth to watch for many times so as literature. Whenever you watch it, it may offer you different impressions.
Truman Show is mainly talk about a person, Truman Burbank. In short, it is a depiction of Truman. Seaheaven, Truman’s living place, is the largest movie studio. All people in Seaheaven are actor or actress, except Truman. Truman’s life is the most popular TV show, broadcasting twenty-four hours a day. In the beginning, the television producer, Christof, said people are tired of common TV series, so wanted to present audience something special. That’s why Truman Show was produced.
In this movie, the director put many people and events to convince Truman not to leave his loving home, Seaheaven. Take Marlon for example, he is Truman’s best friend since childhood. But, he often told Truman that Seaheaven is a good place and make every effort to keep Truman stay in Seaheaven. But, on the other hand, there are people who try to tell Truman what is the truth like Lauren. But, in the end, the director arranged that Lauren’s family is moving to Fiji.
Near the end of the movie, Truman neglected everyone to sail alone. While sailing, he defeated his weak point, water-fearing. Then, he found out the truth that where he lived for the past thirty years is a stadium. At this time, Christof talked to him, hoping he will stay in Seaheaven. But, Truman gave a bow and walked out of the exit. What an unforgettable moment!
I love the last part most. I think it is the most difficult time to make decision. I think at that moment Truman is afraid of the future, but he doesn’t want to live in Seaheaven anymore. It is a dilemma. While making decision, we need to consider every possible result. We also need to be responsible for our decision. It is tough. I think the courage is the most important thing that I got from this is movie, Truman Show.
