We have so many special days for special people or special occasions. On August 8th, we have Father’s day; on April 4th, we have Children and Women’s Day. What about out mother? Is she not important? No, the role of mother is very important. So, we have a day for her as well, the Sunday of the second week in May. That’s the day we called Mother’s Day.
This year, both my parents went to China on business. So, we didn’t celebrate this day together. But, I called my mother to say Happy Mother’s Day. Instead, my sister and I went to my grand mother’s house to have a lunch with her.
There is an old saying, “Actions speak louder than words.” But, on Mother’s Day, this old saying would not be so right. Taking actions mean you will buy your mom gifts or give her money. On the contrast, our mother would not want us to spend too much money on presents. So, she may expect that just a few simple words, Happy Mother’s Day. At this time, few words can have great impact.
I think there are so many ways to express our thanks for our mother. But, I think there is no need to express our thanks only on this day. In daily life, we should help our mom to do house chores or kitchen stuff. By doing so, our mother would be more happier.
