對法國南部酒區Rhone隆河丘稍有認識的，對Paul Jaboulet Aine應不會感到陌生，但今次討論的酒款並非售價高達US$100的極品級Hermitage red "La Chapelle"，而是只售US$9的Cotes du Rhone red "Parallele 45”，這是一款絕對物超所值的Rhone Wine．

上周閒來逛逛酒商，看見這瓶1998 Cotes du Rhone "Parallele 45”特價，只售港幣$69（折合約NT$280），於是便買了三瓶與好友聚餐。席上好友是那些愛以啤酒當開水的豪俠，對葡萄酒沒有什麼認識，也甚少喝葡萄酒。然而，這瓶"Parallele 45”可能會改變他們的飲食習慣，放棄啤酒而改投葡萄酒的懷抱。他們被豐富的果香所吸引，胡椒、香料及果醬的香氣不斷湧出，口感輕至中度豐厚，果味充足，餘韻帶很輕微的巧克力味，很平衡，與配合當晚的廣東菜，尤以燒烤食品最匹配．在香港實在很難以數十元購得這種質素的葡萄酒。就這樣決定吧，"Parallele 45” 1998將是小弟婚宴上的基本酒款，真的十分划算，哈哈哈！

回家翻查資料，發現專家對"Parallele 45” 1998的不俗酒評，是專家心目中的Best Buy．Winespectator給予86分： Shows the potential of the '98 vintage in Southern Rhone. Hedonistic（享樂主意）and dense, with smoke, red berry, mocha and black chocolate, this medium-bodied, medium intense, nicely oaked red makes for delightful drinking. A great value. Drink now through 2003. (141665 cases produced)

網站WinoStuff的酒評十分有趣，認為"Parallele 45” 1998是不會令你破產的好酒，當然不可拿來招呼客戶，但用於周未的好友聚會卻綽綽有餘。WinoStuff：A great value wine that does have the chewiness and body one wants from their Rhones, even if that one is me. The wine, for the price, is a good solid red that the majority will enjoy. I got spice, I got body, I got the aroma of my humidor and the wine was good, too. Keep bottles of this on hand and you won’t go broke as your friends come over to drink you dry. Drink this for fun, no heavy client meetings, just Friday night with friends.

Paul Jaboulet Aine是家族經營的酒商兼酒農，從二十多個不同的法定酒區生產葡萄酒。"Parallel 45" 則是產於隆河丘一處北緯45度的葡萄園，此處豎立一石碑顯示〔法國法部由此開始〕"Ici commence le Midi"。根據官方資料，"Parallel 45" 是由45%Syrah和55%Grenache Noir調配而成，以傳統方法釀製，可於現在或未來五至十年內飲用，最佳配搭是羊扒和不同種類的乳酪。

年青時：Cherry red with mauve hints, deep and intense in colour, Intense and complex, with red fruit aromas (raspberry), uplifted by spicy notes (pepper, coriander). Fresh and lively, with a remarkable tannic structure and power.

陳年後： Deep ripe cherry red colour. Rich, spicy (juniper), with aromas of very ripe red fruit (blackcurrant) and Viennese pastry (toast, caramel). Attactive, slightly rustic freshness, rich and round, with a well presented and harmonious tannic structure.
