止庵 『神奇的現實』（本書或為「小說義和團」。”神奇的現實” 一語，為中南美某作家之keyword，序中引近兩百字。我原先以為它是慣用語The reason truth is stranger than fiction is that there is less of it.— Justice 0. W. Holmes. 不過，它的意義更為豐富。基本上，我們如果無法「同情」於藝術表現之氛圍、價值觀等，就無法進入其世界。）
啟功 『口述歷史』

有些翻譯書，我讀譯者說法，如果他/她很投入，通常都會買。、《大師與瑪格麗特》（圓神有中譯本，不過我買大陸本，因為高惠群在2003年的後記吟一首：「蒼生噩噩鬼神嬉，滿腹辛酸譯大師。千古月明多少恨，豆籬瓜架雨如絲。」 這首，其實沒什麼，不過總是一番心事。）

1998年，上海譯文出版社出版了 19冊的『狄更斯文集』（許多人認為他是英國最偉大的小說家，雖然他們喜愛的，各不相讓…….）。我前幾年在台北看到約13本，可嫌其中最想要的找不到。又心想，篇幅如此大，大概不可能讀它們。之後，被一位牙醫買去。五個月前，再向老闆訂，都不果。今天，在另外一家看到四本，就買下。* 為 su討論過的。

「先來糾正史詩的法文，不是l’dpopde，而是l’épopée
法文的recherche(s)是名詞……
但根據法文，應該多加「之研究」或「研究」才精確。」
