The trail of Annie’s lace brought her husband, Mick, to meet her. It was just romantic like her lovely lace. The trail of Fiona’s lace brought her parents, Annie and Mick, to find her and her younger sister, Ailish. It was amazing like her impressive lace. 

The lace that Fiona made was intricate and delicate. However, it was also strong enough to save Fiona and Ailish and give their family strength to go through the difficult time of immigrating to America.

The lace that Annie and Fiona made was not only the beautiful symbol of their family, but also the splendid blessing from one generation to the next.

I love the way Patricia Polacco constructed Fiona's Lace. She expanded the romantic story to include the two kids, who shared the same sweet story and created the new one to connect and enrich the old one.
