Boston College---- MS in Finance Program

I.       Program description

An extensive review of fundamental tools and concepts in finance provides students with a foundation for advanced work in corporate finance, investments and financial institutions. There are eight required courses covering these areas, and two electives in such specialties as portfolio theory, international finance and the structure of corporations and markets, though students may take electives in a wide array of business disciplines.

II.    Program requirement

All applicants who completed their undergraduate course work outside of the United States must have the equivalent of an American bachelor's degree (equivalency to be determined by the Graduate Dean of the School or the University Registrar).

---GMAT score: MBA, MSF, MSA, and PhD in Finance applicants are required to take the GMAT. All current and previous results must be forwarded to the Office of Admissions. GMAT scores are valid for five (5) years from test date. These are significant indicators of prospective performance and the Admissions Committee considers them when evaluating applications. It also considers other indicators, such as internship/work experience, activities and awards, recommendations and your motivation statement.

---Work Experience: Full-time Work Experience (MSF Program):

Most degree candidates have some full-time work experience. However, a small percentage of applicants, with a strong set of application materials, may receive admission with no previous full-time work experience.

Confidential Declaration Of Finances

In order for an international student (defined by citizenship, not country of residency) to enter the United States , the student must obtain a visa from a United States Consulate or Embassy. Among the necessary documentation needed to obtain a visa is the visa certificate, Form I-20 or Form IAP-66, issued by Boston College . Once admitted to Boston College , students will receive a copy of the Confidential Declaration of Finances Form that must be completed by the student, the student's parents, and the family's bank. Through this form, the family will verify that it has the necessary financial support to meet the student's tuition and living expenses while in the United States . Boston College will not award a Form I-20 or Form AIP-66 without receipt of the Confidential Declaration of Finances Form.
