Slippery as a river

Shadows 

rolled 

We spun around. 

In the red spotlight

 your tender cheeks bloomed 

like a snowy white rose

Soft arms on my shoulders

As though they were bluebirds’ feathers.

drank in your glances

the charm filled my senses. 

 

The moment you turned and twisted 

Music stopped

Lights went out 

Perfume 

lingered

Long gloves warm in my hands
