你能否說出舊約第五本書的書名?______________________
你能從這卷書中引用一段經文嗎?_______________________
Authority
of the Son of Man
Scriptures:Luke 3-6
Heart of the Passage:Luke
3:1-22; 4:1-30
Overview
Luke
introduces the ministry of Jesus with three preparatory events: ( 1 ) the
ministry of His forerunner, John the Baptist; (2) His baptism by John; and (3)
His temptation by Satan. Christ's genealogy ties Him unmistakably to David the
king, Abraham the patriarch, and Adam the first man. Rejection in His hometown
of Nazareth causes Him to shift His headquarters to Capernaum, where He
ministers for two full years. There Christ calls 1 2 men to be His closest
traveling companions. And there by the shores of Galilee He begins to prepare
them for the ministry He will soon entrust to them.

Your Daily Walk
Can you
name the fifth book of the Old Testament? _______________
Can you
quote one verse from that Old Testament book? _______________
Satan's
attacks are infinitely subtle. Sometimes he approaches in a direct frontal
attack, providing an invitation to sin at a moment of weakness (as with David
and Bathsheba, 2 Samuel 11:2). Other times he uses crafty deception in order to
trick you into a sinful act (as with Eve in the garden, Genesis 3:1-6). But for
each temptation there is a ready defense available: the Word of God (Psalm
119:11). Christ knew that. Three times He responded to Satan's attacks with a
Scriptural counterattack from the Book of Deuteronomy. Do you know your Bible
well enough to do the same? Do you, like Christ, have a verse in your
"arsenal" to use against each of Satan's temptations?
Think
through the areas of your life where you find yourself most vulnerable to
temptation: lustful thoughts, outbursts of temper, worry, gossip,
undependability. Then locate and memorize one verse that specifically speaks to
that need. When Satan attacks, be ready!
Insight
The King Without the Curse
Jesus was
indeed the Son of David and legal heir to the throne of Israel, as seen in the
genealogy of chapter 3. However, in order to avoid "the curse of
Coniah" (Jeremiah 22:28-30), Jesus' right to rule could not come through
David's son Solomon. Look at Luke 3:31 to see how Christ avoided that curse!
Adage
Weak doctrines will not be a match
for powerful temptations.
