My Help Exchange in Hamilton (八) - trip in Halls Gap

推薦 1 收藏 0 轉貼0 訂閱站台

Actually I had wrote my diary in English in one of my article which was called "My Help Exchang in Hamilton (三)", although just parts of paragraghs are English.

I think the reason why I didn't keep on in English writing is because I might have to spend double time to write it in English, and also sometimes I think I can't express my feelings into the English words or sentences very well, so I still get used to write it in my native language.

Sorry about that, Louix! But I would like to write this article in English which is about my one day trip in the Grampians National Park. Hope you will enjoy it! : )

3/18

Today is Sunday,so we can have Katrin's pancakes this morning again, yummy~

Katrin took me to the bus stop at 9:35am,which is next to the train station, there was nobody there, except me and a cat, very quite town, especially on Sunday.

There is the timetable. I got on at Hamilton and got off at Halls Gap, just two stops (Hamilton-->Dunkeld -->Halls Gap) and 1.5hours can be reached.

And here came the bus. It was a big bus today, but Katrin said sometiomes it was a small one. There were few people on the bus, only five including the driver.

The bus driver is a very nice person, because he gave me the concession ticket price directly without any asking. It surprised me!At the beginning, I had lots of doubts about the fare. As I know, it should be $9.5 one way. But when I said I wanted a return ticket, he just check the fair book and said:"That's $9.4,and I'll give you the ticket 15 minutes later."

And When I got the ticket, I just saw it's a concession ticket! So I saved $9.5 today, so lucky~^^

After arriving in Halls Gap(11:16am), I went to the information center first, asked the receptionist to advice me which way I could go if I only have no more than four hours.

There are so many walking track in this national park. As a matter of fact, I would like to go the famous one which is called "pinnacle"(The tracking number 4), because every tour book or postcards show the picture taken from there!

But it might take for five hours to walk around and I didn't have so much time. The receptionist recommend the tacking number 2 for me,and then I got to start my adventure today~

Unfortunately,I got lost at the beginning!!!I couldn't find the entrance to that walking track. >_<

I just kept walking till there came to a man riding bicycle passing through me, I asked him where am I and he said I walked too much,I have to walk back to town, and I'll see the Victoria road on my right hand side, turn right then I can see the walking direction...

So I spent almost 1 hour (probably about 2 kilo I think) from the wrong way back to the right one, so terrible!

Why I always choose the wrong way after I left Sydney and Jimmy(because Jimmy Always chose the wrong way when we're travelling...)?Did Jimmy's bad luck tansfer to me since he back to Taiwan? On no~ :(

Finally I found the entrance.

But actually I'm still not so sure about that, just because it said:"The way is restricted access emergency vehicles only".
Does that mean I couldn't pass from here???I was really confused about that, but I couldn't find another way to get into!
So I decided to go inside from here regardless that caution.I told to myself:It might just for the vehicles, not the passengers, not for me!

And this time,I was correct!Thanks god~

I spent 1 hour to get on to the "Chatauqua Peak". But I didn't feel very well at that time, there's something wrong with my stomach. So I couldn't concentrate on these wonderful scenery and I didn't take lots of pictures either, what a pity!

Look! There is a green heart on the grass.

And also on my way to the peak, I met an old couple , they said to me:"Be careful!", because they just saw a snake on their way. It really scared me! So I became very careful on my way. However, I didn't meet with snakes, I think it was the second lucky thing I had today.

Went back to Halls Gap's town centre, there are lots of coffee shops and ice cream shops. But I felt sick, so I didn't eat my favorite-ice cream. A pity again!

And I waited for the bus coming at 3:39pm, the same driver again. At 5:05pm, Katrin picked me up at the Hamilton bus stop and we went back home to have dinner.

What a lovely day! I really enjoyed it! (Except I got lost and sick,haha...>_<) But I also felt exhausted, I walked about 8 kilo and my legs were sore. I fell asleep when I got into the bus right away, and I went to bed very early (at night o'clock) tonight.

Goodbye Grampians, very nice to see you. : )
