出生於音樂之都-維也納的歌手法爾可
自八○年代開始走紅於歐陸。
1983年因為他個人首張專輯中歌曲Der Kommissar，
被新浪潮團體After The Fire翻譯成英語版本
受到英美樂迷的注意，
而這首歌曲亦是
首度由白人歌手完成的Rap歌曲。
兩年後挾著莫札特之名，並趁著電影【阿瑪迪斯】
拿下奧斯卡多項大獎而發行的Rock Me Amadeus
為他在全球流行榜奪得冠軍，
亦蟬連美國單曲榜三週冠軍，
其中流行舞曲節奏加上法爾可的唸歌，
帶給所有樂迷煥然一新的感受，
就如同莫札特的音樂當年所引起的震撼。
亦使Falco成為
第一位在美國榜上贏得冠軍寶座的歐洲本土藝人。
法爾可緊接著從同專輯「Falco III」中，
推出另一首帶著歇斯底里及詭譎意味的抒情曲Jeanny，
亦在德國勇奪冠軍。
在Rock Me Amadeus之後幾年，
陸續發行「Emotional」和「Wiener Blut」專輯，
不過成績還是無法超越前作。
1998年2月法爾可不幸因車禍去世，享年41歲
His solo career began in 1982
with the rap-style European hit "Der Kommissar"
and the controversial tale of prostitution "Jeanny',
which topped the German charts
despite a complete radio ban.
Falco's first impact on the English-speaking world
came with 1985"s "Rock Me Amadeus".
Co-written with Dutch producers
Rob and Ferdi Bolland,
the song's zany mixture of speech and
singing made it a US/UK chart-topper
the following year at the same time
as Falco 3 broke into the US Top 10.
After releasing the rock ballad "Vienna Calling",
Falco returned to the "Amadeus" mode
on "The Sound Of Musik",
which was an attack on
Austrian president Kurt Waldheim.
Despite his collaboration with model and film star
Brigitte Nielsen on "Body Next To Body",
Falco's later records,
such as "Titanic" in 1992
were not successful
outside German-speaking territories.
Moving to the Dominican Republic f
or tax purposes,
he was building his own recording studio
when he was killed
in a car accident in February 1998.
