三月十一日，教育處副處長宋斐如事件：
臺灣人在「臺灣長官公署」裡，最高職位的教育處副處長宋斐如，他主持一分「敢於直言」、「為民喉舌」的報紙《人民導報》，因為該報的報導公正正直，因而得罪了陳儀，而被免去職務。
二二八事件爆發後，宋斐如便成為被整肅的對象之一，三月十一日下午兩點半左右，宋斐如便在自己家中的庭院被捕。
宋斐如的第二任妻子區嚴華，在一九四九年，亦以莫須有的罪名加以逮捕，並施以酷刑，最後竟在一九五○年一月在臺北火車站前公告：
「死刑公告：一九五○年一月Ｘ日，區嚴華因通匪罪判處死刑。」
宋斐如的兒子宋洪濤，因而被區嚴華之父趕出家門，流落街頭，當時他只是建國中學初中部學生。
宋洪濤只好咬緊牙關，每天靠打零工過日，晚上就睡在新公園（今二二八紀念公園）、或臺北火車站。
宋洪濤也找過父親的好友求助：李萬居（臺灣新生報社長）、謝東閔，但所謂人在人情在，人亡人情逝，統統遭受拒絕，更不可思義的是他的姊夫「王民寧」不僅不幫助他，甚至還叫他「當兵去！」唉！人情之冷暖、、、。
三月十二日，《臺灣新生報》總經理阮朝日，一去不回。
三月十二日上午，剛新婚不久的阮美姝偕夫婿林醫生，由大華莊趕回臺北市成都路的娘家，要勸父親阮朝日逃難，先避一陣子再說。
正在說時，阮朝日說：
「我又沒有犯法，幹嘛要逃啊？」堅決不肯離開，此時已是中午，到了十二點三十分左右，突然聽到有人按門鈴的聲音。
阮美姝就去開門，門外站立著五、六個大漢，阮美姝就問道：
「你們是～。」不待阮美姝問完。來人之中，一個帶頭的人說：
「阮朝日總經理在不在？」此時也不待阮美姝回答，就直朝著客廳走過去。此時，阮朝日也走了出來，到了客廳，一看到這群陌生人。〔身穿中山裝，腳穿中國式布鞋，一看即知是陳儀政府的人員。〕
於是阮朝日就開口問道：
「你們有何貴事？」剛剛答話的那一個帶頭的，回答道：
「阮總經理，想請問一下報社的事。」
此時，阮朝日已經發覺事情不是那麼單純了，在嘴上還是如自言自語般的說：「這樣子，啊～」。
另外四個人，已經不由分說，半推半擁簇著阮朝日往門外走去，此時阮朝日的二女兒阮美娃（當時十一歲，後於二○○三年七月逝世。）及女婿林醫生，都跟了出來。
到了門口，阮美娃問她的父親說：
「爸！你要去哪裡？」阮朝日看著小女兒，手摸著小女兒的頭，卻故作鎮定安慰的說：「美娃！別哭！爸爸馬上就回來了！」
從此，阮朝日一去不回，從人世間蒸發。
此時，有一個中年男子，騎著腳踏車，快速到達門口前時，緊急煞車，腳踏車車輪，發出煞車時的磨擦聲響，停下腳踏車後，急奔進門口，對著阮美姝夫婦急促的問道：
「阮總經理呢？請他快逃！」阮美姝嚇了一大跳，回答道：
「爸爸被五個男人帶走了！」這個中年男人很自責的樣子，並說道：
「哎呀！糟了！我來晚了一步，一定是那輛車子載走吳（金鍊）總編和阮總經理了」。
從此「阮氏王國」「朝日木炭發生爐株式會社」、三處工廠，皆在一夕之間隨著主人阮朝日消失了，化為烏有。
接著，每天有五、六個警察監視著阮家，逼使阮家在被監視的恐懼中，不得不遷回自己的老家，躲避風頭。
這一去，位於臺北成都路鬧區的阮家住宅，也跟著阮朝日一齊消失了，先變成「中國救國團」招待所，之後，竟又改建成大飯店了，被中國人沒收去了。
