Please see FAPA HQ president Bob Yang's letter urging us to send his letter to friends in Taiwan to let them know the dangerous consequence of signing ECFA with China and US Congress's support to Taiwan for a US-Taiwan Free Trade Agreement (FTA). You may send only the Hanji part of the mail. When you sent the mail to Taiwan please let me know as Bob Yang has requested. If you have any question, please let me know.

Dear FAPA Members:

I am writing to ask each one of you to undertake a technically simple yet potentially powerful project. Please join the ECFA Videothon as follows:

1. Send the appended Hanji message, along with the attached PDF file, to no less than TEN friends and relatives in Taiwan . Request that they propagate the message.

2. Notify your FAPA chapter president when you have completed the project. We will assess the degree of participation by our members.

The Ma Ying-jeou government in Taiwan is poised to sign ECFA with China . This poses an existential threat to Taiwan as a sovereign and independent country. Taiwanese Americans, especially FAPA members, should help our birth country by sounding warnings to Taiwan . We now have a unique way of doing that. The two YouTube video clips, with Hanji subtitles, feature Representatives Robert Andrews and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen. They both spoke eloquently for a U.S.-Taiwan FTA and against Taiwan-China ECFA.

We need to get this timely message to the people in Taiwan . Please begin your ECFA Videothon now. Thank you.

The Ma Ying-jeou government in Taiwan is poised to sign ECFA with China . This will impact Taiwan ’s freedom, democracy and sovereignty. U.S. members of Congress are quite worried about ECFA because this agreement will damage the national interests of both Taiwan and the U.S. Representatives Robert Andrews and Ileana Ros-Lehtinen have voiced their opposition to ECFA and support for a U.S.-Taiwan FTA.
