Jean-Pierre Jeunet's "la cite des enfants perdus" is more close to "delicatessen" than "amelie", surreal & cult. i really appreciate the imagination of the director, screenplay writer & all the production teams made this film completely a fantasy.
it's an adventure/sci-fi film, the scientist, krank, kidnaps the children, Denree is one of those, for stealing their dreams. but as the children are scared, that's why, all their dreams are nightmares. Denree's elder brother, One, the strongman cooperates with the girl, Miette, to save Denree.
the character of the unseparated siamese twin sisters & the strong tall man remind me of "big fish" of tim burton.
as Jeunet's style, this film is mainly composed of colours of red, yellow & green. the custome, film setting, decoration are finely designed and produced.
dominique pinon appears in every film of jeunet, anyway, he really looks bizzarre that can fit the roles. ron perlman looks familiar as he appeared in alien 4 & some other american films
oh, i wanna watch "delicatessen" again so much after watching this.
