Waking up at 4 am for my 6:25 am flight to Traverse City, MI. Hours ago, I was still drinking with a bunch of Taiwanese friends in a bar of downtown Vancouver....
Now I had to leave Vancouver. For the tight security-check of USA customs after 911, I had to be in the airport two hours before departure. As for this 911 thing, i have a mixed feeling for it. I do feel sorry for those deaths during 911, however, I wonder have americans ever thought of why they were the target? Anyway, that's what I should not talk about here.
Though this is my first time taking United Airline, I didn't expect the meal to be any good. (as same for most US airlines)
It turned out I was right, during the 4 hours ride, they only served me a hamburger, a hamburger which was much worse than Mei-Er-Mei in Taiwan. They played Ocean's Eleven which I was not interested, either. This kind of bad service could only be compared with a flight I took from Beijing to ShenZhen in China.
After waiting in Chicago O'Hare airport for 30 minutes, I was ready for my next flight to Traverse City. I started to feel something wrong the moment I didn't see a bridge to connect the flight cabin. When I walked to my airplane...Oh my god, it's a small plane with two propellers on each wing! This is the first time i took this kind of small plane and I was the only asian among the 22 passengers.
After landing in Traverse City, my friend Jenny's mother-in-law came pick me up in the airport, a very small airport, like the one in Taichung. She is a typical old american woman from the Middlewest. She asked me if we have MacDonald's or Burger King in Taiwan....@#$%^ This is like an old woman in ShenZhen asking me if we could have lamb or beef to eat in Taiwan. (I think the later one is more ignorant)
Within a few minutes, we arrived the condo I would stay for 3 weeks. So that I didn't have to talk to this woman.
