Comforting brownies。

200 g dark chocolate
50 g milk chocolate
200 g butter (I prefer unsalted one personally)
4 medium eggs
350 g of cane sugar
good pinch of salt
150 g plain flour
brazil nut, chopped (I love nuts so I put lots in)

Preheat the oven to 350℃ during preparation.

1. Melt the dark and milk chocolate together with the butter. Stir and mix well, leave to cool.
2. Mix the eggs with the sugar and a pinch of salt.
3. Pour 1 into 2, give it a good stir and fold in the flour then the chopped nuts.

Transfer the mixture onto a baking tray. Bake for 35~40 mins or until surface harden and dry with center still tender. Remove from the oven and leave to cool.


I made brownies last week because I was desperate for something extremely sweet. Chocolate cake wouldn’t have done for me then, I needed something richer, it was when brownie came into my mind. So I got my hands on this simple recipe and went ahead making the first ever brownie in my entire life.

It didn’t take long to prepare nor to bake, very soon the house was filled with its sweetly rich aroma and everybody was anticipating with excitement. Looking at them through the glass window already amused us a great deal, they surely looked beautiful.

Perhaps because I used deeper baking tray, they turned out to be more fudge like but still, they are genuinely comforting.

There is still some in the frige, when it should be finished.. I shall make something else.. such as.. orange chocolate cake? Doesn’t this sound nice, too?
