Lazy Lover

This morning,I had a burned scrambled egg,
and a piece of toast,which is too plain.
Birds were chirping on my windowsill.
And I wondered what were you doing
while dumbly looking away.

This afternoon, I had a cup of over-sweet coffee,
and some snacks, which are over sweet too.
My room was infused with coffee smell.
And I wondered what were you doing
while weakly sinking myself in the sofa.

At night, ice-cream melted before I could finish it.
It made my fingers sticky, and stained my shirt.
I was staring at the picture on my wall
while soft music flied out of the speakers.
And I wondered what were you doing
while blindly switching TV from channel to channel.

I forget who told me to slow down
and I forget the grace of being patient.
Without you, I'm always lazy.
