At first I simply wanted to wrap up songs I've been listening to over the last decade. And then the list went on and on and on—Chairlift, CHVRCHES, MØ, Haim, Lana Del Rey, London Grammar—and I was like "Eff it, I'll just choose one".
And my song of the decade is Sky Ferreira's "I Blame Myself", slightly edging out Chairlift's "I Belong In Your Arms", Carly Rae Jepsen's "Run Away With Me" and Lana Del Rey's "Video Games".
But the choice is made easier after factoring in a few things. I've been rooting for Sky Ferreira since the very first beginning. I went to her mini concert in Hong Kong when she was on her way to Summer Sonic in 2014. And she was in Baby Driver, one of the coolest action movies ever. So.
