Your fantastic home-made bath bombs!

What could be better after a stressful day than a warm, relaxing bath? The secret to a perfect relaxing moment? Simple, your favourite bath bombs! You may know them better as'bath bombs', but the result is always the same: RELAX ! The name makes sense: they burst in the water but, fortunately, do not hurt. Bathing becomes a real sensory experience because the bath bombs are made of butters and essential oils, which soften and care for your skin while providing a pleasant aromatherapy break . With the bombs you can play at being a child again, or dream of being a nymph bathing in a private pond, or close your eyes and let yourself be captured by the crackling sound. And once you emerge from the bath, you're sure to feel like a different person! Where to find them? The beauty of bath bombs is that you don't necessarily have to go to a shop to get them, but you can make them at home, home-made!
Get to work. Within a day, your bath bombs will be ready to give away or use. Here are all the ingredients and tools you need, followed by explanations on how to prepare them.
Ingredients;

200 g baking soda
100 g corn starch
100 g citric acid
30 drops of any essential oil
1 tablespoon olive oil
Cocoa powder, cinnamon or natural colourings
Rather than using olive oil and generic essential oils, simply add (30 drops + 1 tablespoon) of Alia skin care body oil, which is already rich in fine essential and vegetable oils, for a unique bath bomb because it will be rich in active ingredients from argan oil, castor oil, rosemary essential oil, vitamin E, Sicilian sweet orange essential oil and jasmine essential oil.

Tools

1 coffee cup
1 wooden chopstick or 1 wooden spoon
1 large bowl
1 spoon
1 weight (dictionary, packet of pasta or rice)
1 spray bottle with water
1 scale
Moulds (plastic wrap, ice cube moulds, yoghurt pots, etc.)

Preparation
1) Weigh out the bicarbonate of soda, citric acid and cornstarch. Citric acid comes in granules and is easily found in pharmacies or online. Baking soda and cornstarch (also known as cornflour) can be found in any supermarket. Pour the three ingredients into a bowl, preferably made of glass.

2) Pour a tablespoon + 30 drops of Alia skin care body oil (or a tablespoon of oil plus 30 drops of essential oil) into a coffee cup.

3) Add the oil to the dry ingredients. Stir and start spraying water into the bowl with a sprayer (an old perfume or detergent spray container is perfect, but it must be very clean). Gradually stir with a wooden spoon. Add the ingredients you have chosen to colour your bath bombs, such as 1 or 2 teaspoons of turmeric powder, cocoa or cinnamon. You can also try colouring your bath bombs with a few drops of food colouring or coloured mineral powders, such as soap.

4) Spray a very small amount of water with a spray bottle and stir until the ingredients start to mix together to form a workable mixture (as in the last picture) which should be moist but not soggy. Warning: they should not start to fizz . Now you can transfer them into the moulds. For the choice of moulds you can take inspiration from do-it-yourself soap containers. For example, ice moulds, yoghurt pots, silicone moulds and other non-rigid plastic containers are all suitable.

5) Pour the mixture into the containers little by little, pressing well with a teaspoon layer by layer to compact everything. If you have used a silicone mould or ice cube tray, you can place a heavy object on top, such as a dictionary or a packet of noodles or rice, to prevent the bath bombs from expanding too much. Let them sit in the moulds for at least 1 to 2 hours, until they have started to solidify, before taking them out. Then turn the moulds upside down and place the bath bombs on a tray. Let them dry for at least a whole day (the surface should not be damp) before using them in the bath or wrapping them up as gifts.
