EXT. SMALL PASSAGE IN THE WILD OF KIN MEN.- NIGHT
Jasmine walks absent-mindedly on one passage in the wild of Kin Men. Ah-Guo drives his taxi and passes by slowly, for observing this strange woman. Jasmine hears the noise of car, runs agilely into the bushes beside the road.
Ah-Guo:
(Reaches out his hand)
Hey! I’m not soldier; I’m a taxi driver; I’m your friend! Don’t be afraid! Where do you want to go?

EXT. SMALL PASSAGE IN THE WILD OF KIN MEN.- NIGHT
Jasmine is now in the taxi of A-Kwan.
Ah-Guo:
Do you feel cold?
Jasmine doesn’t answer at all.
Ah-Guo:
Hey, this coat is for you, don’t catch cold.
Ah-Guo gives the coat to Jasmine, but she didn’t move a finger. Ah-Guo smiles and feels that this situation is very funny. Suddenly, Jasmine cries:
Jasmine:
Soldiers!
There is a group of coast soldiers on the road ahead, and there is no time to turn away or turn back.
Ah-Guo:

The taxi passes the soldiers safely. And the soldiers are far away behind.
Jasmine:
(Being cool) Who is your girl friend!
Ah-Guo:
(He likes cool girls with anger; he smiles) You’re a funny girl.
Jasmine:
What do you do in the wild at midnight?
Ah-Guo:
That’s what I want to know from you too… Do you see the camera?
Jasmine:
You’re a photographer... What do you shot?
Ah-Guo:
Nude.
Jasmine:
What?
Ah-Guo:
Nude, my specialty is nudes in the war ruins in Kin Men.
Jasmine:
(Feels absurd) …. You’re crazy… be aware, a psycho like you would be executed in Mainland China.
Ah-Guo:
And you, a girl from china, what do you do in the wild of Kin Men at midnight?
Jasmine:
I’m… a trader. (She laughs when she says that.)
Ah-Guo:
Girl from china, will there be a boat that will take you home?

Ah-Guo drives the taxi to the shore where one can see Mainland China.
Jasmine:
You’re genius! Now, the signal is from telecom of china! Wait a minute… (Calls back home)… I’m Jasmine… I’m on the shore… Take me back.

EXT. SHORE OF KIN MEN.- MORNING
Morning, Jasmine walks to the sea, like a goddess.
Ah-Guo, besides his taxi on shore, looks at her at distant.
The black boat from china murmurs with loud noises; Jasmine disappears into the sea in the mist of early morning.

INT. ROOM OF AH-MAY, CHINA.- NIGHT
Jasmine:
You’re the youngest among us, but you’re the first to marry in our street.
Ah-May:
My mother always asks me to marry a Taiwanese or a man from Kin Men… I’m so nervous…
Jasmine helps Ah-May doing her hair.
Jasmine:
Didn’t you already see him? Besides, you two families agree that you should have dates before the marriage.
Ah-May:
I never thought that we are all soon going to leave this village… How about you and Brother Lee?
Jasmine:
He is work-addict; everyday he is busy with his real estate business in Xia Men. He says that he will give me money to study in the university, and I say to him that I will not take money from him if we are not married.
Ah-May:
I’m so glad that we’re all achieving our dreams, leaving this village… I’m not sure it will be better or worse…
Jasmine:
You must be courageous in Kin Men, Ah-May!

INT. HOUSE OF AH-MAY, CHINA.- NIGHT
Brother Huang takes his two brothers to the house of Ah-May for the proposal of marriage. Everybody is well-dressed and polite in the living room; the sister of Ah-May takes out many dishes from the kitchen with a timid smile.
Brother Huang:
Sister doesn’t marry yet? I will arrange something in Kin Men if possible…
Father of Ah-May:
The matchmaker who marries to Kin Men is already looking someone for her.
Mother of Ah-May:
The matchmaker is so good that the highest building in our village is her house now.
Jasmine brings Ah-May to the living room to meet everybody.
Brother Huang:
Let me introduce for you, this is our Ah-Uan, the one is so lucky to marry you!
Mother of Ah-May:
(Surprised, points to the youngest brother.) You are not Ah-Uan? Who are you?
Youngest Brother:
Oh, you’ve misunderstood! No, I’m not going to marry. It’s my second elder brother, Ah-Uan, who is going to marry your sweet daughter!
Ah-Uan is a sunburn and simple farmer. He smiles and shows all his big and yellow front teethes.
Ah-May suddenly cries out at the moment.
Her mother consoles her.
Mother of Ah-May:
(Whispers in the ears of Ah-May) it’s all right… as long as you marry to Kin Men…
