In this follow-up to the worldwide hit, we find Bridget (Renee Zellweger) where we left her: blissful and besotted in the arms of gorgeous lawyer Mark Darcy (Colin Firth). Mark is accomplished, supportive and tolerant of (nearly) all of Bridget's tiny jealousies; why wouldn't every woman in London, including Mark's new long-legged, drop-dead-gorgeous, I-always-say-the-right-thing-at-all-times intern, want to lure him away from the plumpish, opinionated, sometimes inappropriate Bridget? With the entry of the leggy threat, Bridget's pink clouds begin to turn grey as her attacks of self-doubt sorely test her relationship with Darcy. And just when it seems that the waters couldn't get any more choppy, Bridget's former boss, womanizing heartthrob Daniel Cleaver (Hugh Grant) sails into view.

I like this film, not just because of the persistence of Bridget (even she’s so eager to want a relationship, she tries to manage her emotions well when she meets the 2 men, Mark and Daniel.) but because of the positive concepts of Bridget. (I think she’s kinda unconfident in herself, but even she’s dumped, she can look at the optimistic way, trying to move on and make herself happy.) When Bridget Jones’ Diary had been released in 2001, I found this film good and appealing. I sorta adore Bridget’s characteristics: she’s a romantic, attractive and sensitive girl. Even though she looks kinda chubby, men are still obsessed with her, for she’s really lovely.
Well…apart from her personalities which make this movie much more fun, her relationship with Mark gives me an impressive impact. How wonderful life is to Bridget! She got such a considerate, romantic and talented guy. When she was mistaken for taking drugs for someone at the airport, and got arrested then imprisoned for a few weeks. It was Mark who saved her from the hell. Oh, my! I guess that’s ridiculous that Bridget have left Mark without a specific reason. She knows absolutely how much she’s in love with Mark, so does Mark. Anyways, a fun, fascinating and dreamy film does back me up, helping me laugh happily and have a good movie time. (It’s really a touching but kinda funny scene: Bridget asked Mark to propose to her in the way she’s been dreamed of. lol )
