Heart to Heart

Is this the rule?
If you cut your heart open, you'll touch another's heart?


A stranger read me and felt like weeping, s/he said. It's hardly poetry, but it's so truthful that it hurts for me to read it again myself. And then I realised why it could possibly make the reader feel like weeping. It is the touch of sorrow, brushing by you, gently yet so definitely...

Robert once wrote me a letter, which he nicknamed as his reading assignment. In this letter he said, in a tone so untypically and so unusually tender that I almost thought he was being sarcastic, "It must have been hard for you to cut open your self so deep..."
