An autumn Moon flies high,
bathing tall trees in its light.
Only the rabbits on the lawn
stir as I walk past.
I woke up, searching for something...
I just cannot remember what.
The dream may have taunted me again,
though it all faded when I opened my eyes.
Or maybe pieces of a song spun around in my mind,
till the tempo and the melody drove me to rise.
It all seems to vanish when I slip from my bed
to walk the empty gardens,
losing my thoughts to the star-filled sky and cool grass.
In time, when I try to sleep again,
I know that "something" in my mind
will come again,
to make me restless in my bed...
