I still sit here,
on these lonely shores,
awaiting your arrival.
My eyes tired of searching the sea,
my shoulders burn from the rage of the sun.
The tiny candlelight of hope inside me
serving as a humble lighthouse for your travel,
flickers in pain.
All awaiting your slightest touch at my shoulder,
your bright eyes to finally meet mine,
your warm smile to revive me.
Hand in hand we would walk off
this beach upon which I have waited for so long.
But until you arrive,
Still,
I sit,
And wait.
