Hiking trail : Mürren － Grütschalp

*** Introduction ***

This easy route crosses forests and grasslands and offers great views of the Lauterbrunnen valley. The trail runs parallel to the narrow gauge railway between Mürren and Grütschalp. If desired, you can get on the train half-way the route in Winteregg. This hike can easily be combined with a roundtrip from Lauterbrunnen. Take the bus from the railway station to Stechelberg and take the gondola to Mürren from there. Then walk to the train station of this nice car-free village (about 15 minutes). That is where the hike to Grütschalp starts. A funicular takes you from Grütschalp down to Lauterbrunnen.

*** Transportation to Mürren ***

Mürren can be reached by a Grütschalp and a short train route from Lauterbrunnen. Another way to get here is to travel to Stechelberg by car or by bus. A gondola takes you up to Mürren. Beware that Mürren, Winteregg and Grütschalp can not be reached by car.

Take the funicular down to Lauterbrunnen. An alternative it to go back to Mürren by train and take the gondola down to Stechelberg.
