learn to cut out bad friends from life for good. Part I

=======================================
Indeed, life is a series event of learning. First class of learning English, first time having a bad boyfriend, first time being friends with selfish, unappreciated, and inconsiderate beings that do nothing but take advantage of your kindness, etc. When do we ever learn to stand out for ourselves, shrug off the bad feelings and firmly cut off those useless people from our lives for good? The class I’m taking at the moment is "self-protection".

I’m about to write a classic "friend taking advantage of me endlessly and never offering anything in return" case from a recent event.

Background characters:
The selfish mortal: This girl I’ve been foolish with for the past 2.5 years, Miss. A. (San Jose)
The "innocent" guy: He has lots of money and but no women to count on, let’s call him Lee.(Burlingame)
My boyfriend, who would give a ride to a random nobody home, or pick up and drop off my friends (mostly Miss A) to their destination, let’s call him Ma, and he lives in the city (SF)

Background story:
I was asked to organize Miss A’s 27th bday two weeks ago. Considering the fact that I no longer party as hard as a year ago and have all the necessary connections to fabulous clubs VIP lines and rooms, this year i did not have to make 10 calls and kiss DJ’s ass to get a spot to party. Got the evite sent out for dinner reservations and afterparty, lots of people came out, everyone had a good time.
The next day, Miss A asked me to go dinner with her and Lee, perhaps he liked to take her out dinner for her bday. We were supposed to meet @ Lee’s place 8pm in Burlingame, which is 40 minutes away from me and Miss A as we both live in San Jose, and 15 minutes away from Ma’s office in Palo Alto. I thought if I were to go all the way north to Burlingame, might as well stay at Ma’s in the city. So i suggested to Miss A that we carpool to dinner. The ideal spot for us to meet was Ma’s office which is right off 101 @ University Ave, the LLP building is right by 101 ramp as tho it’s attached to the freeway. It takes less than 60 seconds to get off and get back on freeway, and yet she told me to take a train becuz she’s got NO FUCKING TIME to do so. Here’s our email correspondences.

ME:
Do you think we should carpool?
I like to leave my car @ Ma’s office (right by Four Season hotel off 101) and go to Lee with you, and then after dinner I will prolly take BART to the city, what do u think?
oh...gotta remind me to take out the wine glasses I bought for you from my trunk.

Let me know. THx.

Her:

I am not sure when can I get off work and it might save me some time if I can go directly to his place. Maybe you can take train to Burlingame, and after I meet with him at his house, we’ll go pick you up at train station.

Me:
it will only take 60 seconds to stop by and get back on freeway, it’s RIGHT BY 101 ramp.......i swear to God....
u know what a pain in the ass to take train.....

Her:

Come on.. I really don’t have time. Be there at 8 is tough enough for me to meet. I don’t want to wasting time on local traffic. Why don’t you just take your own car and carpool with Ma tomorrow morning?

AND MY FINAL RESPONSE:

see you there @ Issac tonite.

Jen (who’s told me 10+ times to scratch this girl since gazillion moons ago) and my man found this unbelivably amazing, Not to mention just a night before I asked her to upload the bday pix to my album, which would only take 3 clicks on the mouse and she could go to bed and let the Internet load the pix itself. Course she quickly refused, and I ended up downloading each every pix off her album and re-uploading them to my album.....I asked myself..."was she for real??"

It’s nothing unusual for her never to offer anything to me, but it’s rather amazing how ridiculously selfish and inconsiderate one can be!
