Fraudulent

 

My source of inspiration was me.

I don’t know who I am.

I feel like a fraud!

Because I am not myself,

                   I am everyone else,

                         and what they need!

I am no longer allowed to freely hate everything.

I am expected to love. And be loved.

I am now a mom, a wife, a housekeeper.

Because I am not myself,

                   I am everyone else, 

                       and what they need.

I am now the straight and narrow.

My piercings have closed; my tattoos are covered.

My self-expression is “yes dear, I’m sorry”.

Because I am not myself,

                  I am everyone else,

                        and what they need!

 

 

一首成人教育課裡 老師分享他的一位學生寫的詩

 

對我而言  這首詩 有Robert Frost的意境

只是得把寫景喻人生的基調轉換為

寫女人喻女人的共同命運  

 

也許不是每個女人都會成為everyone else, but herself

但即使是在文明 進步的社會制度裡

總有一個殘陋的角落是為女人而留的

特別是好女人 聽話的女人

 

 然而 順從 不是幸福的方法

只是強化社會對好女人的宰制與擺佈而已

 

......

 

 

I think I have been one of them, the so called good women.

Now, right at this moment, I am still there,

in different circumstances, though. 

 

I don't expect to escape from the invisible steel cocoon,

but am quite sure the accumulating self-awareness will be the force exorcising

the spell whoever casts on me. 

 

You are invincible, honey.   

Yes, I am. Yes, I am.....
