【華人健康網圖文／營養師Stella的減肥&營養部落格提供】陣子早上到咖啡廳打稿子順便吃早餐，聽到隔壁桌一群女士在聊天，其中一位提到她最近身體很容易水腫，所以晚點約了醫生要看...然後就聽到她的朋友們紛紛提供意見：A說這一定是腎臟不好，B說她某位朋友也是這樣，後來檢查出XX疾病，C開始教她要怎麼辦，什麼不能吃、要吃什麼…水腫真的就是腎臟不好嗎？水腫該怎麼吃才好、是否該限水呢？
所以水腫和身體對組織間液的調節失常有關，和飲水量無關，且在眾多導致水腫的原因中沒有一個原因是因多喝水所引起的，故水腫時並不需要限制水分的攝取。正常人每天攝取兩、三千毫升的水並不會造成水腫，反而常見因吃太鹹、體内鈉過多而造成水分滯留在體內而導致水腫，此時反而該多喝水來幫助身體將鈉排出體外。換句話說，水腫最重要的關鍵為限鈉，而非限水。
