華男割喉殺母「她過了好一陣才死去」
65歲的華裔女子陳寶拉(Paula Chin，姓名皆為音譯)日前被發現遭割喉並被棄屍，最大嫌疑人為其22歲的兒子吳傑瑞(Jared Eng)；根據7日的法庭信息，警方通過吳傑瑞與女友通話紀錄中說「她過了好一陣才死去」的信息，判定他就是弒母兇手，將其逮捕並控罪。
據悉，吳傑瑞很有可能是因為過世的父親遺產問題與母親產生糾紛，陳寶拉打算停止對其金錢資助，而慘遭殺害。
吳傑瑞在接受警方質詢過程中，表示自己從1月31日起就沒有見過母親，但否認將其殺害，並表示自己之所以回到新澤西的住所，是為了拿他收藏的硬幣，希望變賣成現金來交房租。
根據起訴書，吳傑瑞上月31日駕駛母親陳寶拉的2004年灰色豐田車，在她位於新澤西摩利斯鎮(Morristown)和曼哈頓翠貝卡Vestry街的兩處住所間來來回回，並在當日早上將母親屍體用黑色垃圾袋包裹，丟棄在新澤西住所。
警方日前表示，4日接到報案稱陳寶拉失蹤數日，最後被看到時是在其位於翠貝卡的住所內；5日在新澤西摩利斯鎮(Morristown)陳寶拉擁有的另一處房屋的垃圾堆裡，發現她被裝在黑色垃圾袋中的屍體，用來運送屍體的車子則停在翠貝卡住所附近。
吳傑瑞和其21歲的女友Caitlyn O’Rourke及另一名18歲女子Jennifer Lopez被控藏屍罪。
根據起訴書，Lopez承認自己幫忙清潔犯罪現場，及幫忙運送屍體，並發送短信給O’Rourke告訴她發生的事情，說「現在一切都乾淨了」；根據監控視頻，Lopez在翠貝卡住宅外與另一人從樓內拉出一個被鮮血浸染的行李袋，放在汽車後備箱內。
而O’Rourke在被告知實情經過後，也同意幫忙處理屍體及消滅犯罪現場的證據。
根據「紐約每日新聞」報導，吳傑瑞在6日被捕後，一直否認自己弒母行為，說「我很愛她，她給了我一切」；而7日上午三名被告在曼哈頓的州高等法院過堂時，O’Rourke一度落淚。根據她與吳傑瑞的通話紀錄，吳傑瑞承認自己殺害了母親，並說「她過了好一陣才死去」。
「紐約每日新聞」指出，三名被告相識多年，三人是情侶關係。
法官7日裁定吳傑瑞收押且不得保釋，O’Rourke和Lopez也都被關押，保釋金額分別為5萬元和10萬元。

民進黨團大會年改交鋒 陳菊首督軍
民進黨團今天(27日)針對攸關軍人退撫的「陸海空軍軍官士官服役條例部分條文修正草案」舉行黨團大會，總統府秘書長陳菊也在上任後首度拜會並參加討論。由於立法院院會出現朝野議事攻防，使民進黨團大會被迫中止，改由中午便當會繼續討論，會後陳菊受訪表示，她絕對尊重黨團決定，但希望討論過程中能表達意見，她也呼籲朝野立委支持政院版修法、展現黨內團結。
行政院版的軍人年改修法草案中，高階將領部分，所得替代率有達到90%，這讓部分民進黨立委有所批評，民進黨立院黨團27日舉行黨團大會，除了邀請總統府國家年金改革委員會副召集人林萬億報告軍人退撫新制外，總統府秘書長陳菊也在上任後首度拜會民進黨團共同聽取年改報告。
除了林萬億簡報軍改草案外，在會議室會外，大致可以聽到主張反對所得替代率90%的民進黨立委段宜康不斷論述與發言，不過，由於立法院院會朝野進行議事攻防，民進黨團大會也臨時喊卡，決定中午再來場便當會持續討論。黨團幹事長何欣純說：『(原音)我們沒有共識，中午繼續開。(記者：講完，沒有共識？)還沒講完，因為院會有緊急狀況，他(段宜康)在論述他的意見而已，會還沒有開完。』
對於段宜康在會中對行政院版草案提出質疑，陳菊會後受訪表示，民進黨向來有黨內高度民主、大鳴大放的政黨性格，所以她也會尊重黨團的最後意見，不過，她希望能在討論過程中提出說明，呼籲黨籍立委支持行政院的修法版本。陳菊說：『(原音)我是非常期待大家盡量支持賴院長行政院的版本，展現黨內團結，但是能不能，現在還沒討論，我就不預設立場，我會努力。』
段宜康會後也不願多表意見，僅表示已經把主張提出來，並說民進黨團會針對軍改議題理性溝通、充分討論、共同決定。
