在經書裡面它介紹了佛教所謂的“西方極樂世界”，到底是什麼樣子的世界，然後又介紹了主持這個世界的“阿彌陀佛”，以及“阿彌陀佛”的功德，和祂所發出的弘願，希望將所有的“善男信女”，在“人生”結束之後，能夠渡化他們到“西方極樂世界”去，以避免一而再的“輪迴之苦”，成為“佛”、菩薩、羅漢、、、永遠生活在“西方極樂世界”裡。
