Le 18 mars, un coup de force
constitutionnel a blessé la démocratie taïwanaise. Le parti au pouvoir a essayé
de faire passer l’accord de libre-échange avec la Chine, de manière arbitraire
et sournoise, violant son obligation d’examiner minutieusement avec
l’opposition un texte qui engage l’avenir du pays.
A la suite de ce coup de force,
des centaines d’étudiants ont occupé l’assemblée législative pour défendre les
droits du Parlement. Le 24 mars, d’autres étudiants réagissant au refus du
pouvoir de résoudre la crise par le dialogue et le respect de la Constitution, ont
voulu pénétré au siège du gouvernement. Ils ont été brutalement réprimés par la
police.
Ainsi, cet accord commercial a
déjà fait plusieurs victimes, dont la Démocratie. Il replonge Taïwan dans les heures
les plus sombres de la nuit.
Comme tous les démocrates, je
suis inquiet par cette dérive autoritaire, mais aussi par les menaces que cet
accord commercial fait peser sur l’économie taïwanaise, sur sa sécurité
nationale, sur sa Souveraineté.
Taïwan n’est pas à vendre. Elle
ne peut se laisser dévorer par la rapacité des capitaux chinois. Taïwan n’est
pas la Chine. Elle
ne doit pas vendre son âme pour une poignée de dollars. Elle doit protéger son
identité et sa singularité. Partout en Asie, on lui envie son attachement à la
liberté, au pluralisme ainsi que sa richesse culturelle et son art de vivre.
Formose ne doit pas avoir le destin de Hong Kong,
sous contrôle de la Chine
depuis 1997, après une rétrocession qui lui a arraché la démocratie.
Je ne voudrais pas, en
voyageant un jour à Taïwan, retrouver un pays transformé en atelier de la Chine, annexé comme une
vulgaire province, un atelier où la
Chine pourrait piller toutes les ressources, toutes les
richesses, asservir les travailleurs comme des esclaves, leur payer des
salaires de misère, un atelier qui ne serait plus qu’une poubelle industrielle
asphyxiée par la pollution et la corruption. Les nuages toxiques effaceraient
le Mont de Jade et l’île aux Orchidées. Formose serait rayée de la carte. Qui
voudrait de ce cauchemar ?
Si le danger est réel, rien à
ce jour n’est encore joué. Le Mouvement des Tournesols éclaire nos consciences
de sa lumière, et nous montre le chemin de l’Espoir. Il n’y qu’une parade à la
force aveugle de l’argent et à la violence des armes : c’est la Démocratie.
Alors soutenons avec vigueur le
combat des étudiants taïwanais. Ils sont notre fierté. Ils sont notre dignité.
Aidons-les à faire tomber les Bastilles de l’argent tout puissant et la
dictature de tout économique.
Les tournesols puisent leurs racines et leur énergie
dans le soutien populaire. Plus nous serons nombreux, et plus l’éclat de leur
rayonnement chassera les forces de la
Nuit.
Le 18 mars ne sera pas un jour
de deuil. Le 18 mars sera le jour du Printemps renaissant de Taïwan.

台灣不能拿來兜售。她不能眼睜睜看著自己被中國來的資金猛獸攫取吞噬。台灣不是中國。她不能為了區區幾塊錢，出賣她的靈魂。她應該保護她的自我認同和她的
獨特性。亞洲的所有國家，羨慕台灣的自由價值、豐富多元的文化以及生活的藝術。福爾摩沙不能步入香港的後塵；她不能像香港一樣，自1997年回歸中國後，
便被剝奪了民主的權利。
我不想要有一天 ，當我再度踏上台灣的土地，看到她已淪為中國偏遠的一省，不起眼，不受重視，面目全非，被糟蹋成中國人的勞役營。在這個勞役營裡，中國可以任意掠奪所有的
資源，強取所有的財產，像對待奴隸一樣的鞭役著台灣勞工，施捨他們一些僅足以苟延殘喘的薪水。在這個勞役營裡，整片台灣土地夷為一座巨大的工業垃圾桶，在 汙染與貪污之中喘息，終至窒息。玉山和蘭嶼將被劇毒的雲層覆蓋，福爾摩沙從此在世界地圖中被刪去。有誰想要這樣的噩夢來臨？
危險和威脅一天一天逼近，然而，採取行動仍為時不晚。太陽花學運用它的光芒喚醒了我們的意識，為我們指出希望的道路。要阻擋金錢盲目的力量，要抵抗武器的暴力，別無他法，
只有民主!

“中國民進黨”前主席林義雄“禁食抗議”：「核電四廠續建。」他是：
一九八○年二月二十八日林義雄家宅血案發生
林義雄簡介：
一九四一年，出生於臺灣宜蘭。
一九六四年，臺灣大學法律系畢業。
一九六六年，律師高考第一名，在臺北、宜蘭執行律師業務。
一九七七年，當選臺灣省議員。
一九七九年，應美國在臺協會之邀，赴美考查；十二月，因「美麗島事件」入獄。

一九八七年，獲哈佛大學公共行政學碩士後，遊學英國劍橋大學及日本筑波大學各一年。
一九八九年，回臺發表《臺灣共和國基本法草案》、《心的錘鍊》。
一九九一年，創辦「慈林基金會」。
一九九四年，為「核四公投」禁食六天，獲十二萬多人簽名支持。出任「核四公投促進會」召集人。展開「核四公投千里苦行」環島三十五天，步行一千零五公里。
