金塊兩大主將勞森（Ty Lawson）、法里德（Kenneth Faried）提交易申請。

本季，金塊爆發休息室內訌，主帥布萊恩-蕭（Brian Shaw）引咎下台。雖然，代理主帥亨特（Melvin Hunt）重回適合法里德與勞森的遠投與快節奏打法。

金塊在過去的幾個賽季當中都沒能有令人滿意的表現，這也讓勞森和法里德心懷不滿，對金塊管理層失去信心，他們希望球隊能夠透過交易送人。

賽季中，泰勞森就曾連續捲入交易流言，休賽期至今，勞森被數家媒體稱為「不在球隊未來計畫」。勞森則是目前金塊真正最具交易價值的球員。

據《籃球內幕》得到的訊息源稱，勞森與法里德將保持渴望被交易的狀態，除非球隊在教練等人事方面有巨大改變，或者引進某些大牌球員。

金塊正在積極接收其他球隊的交易報價，傳小牛與國王對勞森的興趣極大。
