Beauden Barrett writes himself into rugby record books after awesome foursome
With his remarkable four-try effort in the 40-12 Bledisloe Cup-sealing victory over the Wallabies in Auckland on Saturday night, Beauden Barrett has written himself into the record books.
Along with his tries, the All Blacks first five-eighth kicked five conversions at Eden Park, for a haul of 30 points.
Those efforts have ensured Barrett has made some history.
Barrett has become the first No 10 in test rugby history to bag four tries in a match.
Up until this weekend, there had been 18 occasions, featuring 17 different players (Russia's Werner Pieterse managed the feat twice) when a starting first-five had scored three tries in test footy.
Two New Zealanders were on that list - Tony Brown, against Samoa at Albany in 2001, and Dan Carter, against Canada in Hamilton in 2007.

Barrett pips former All Blacks first-five Andrew Mehrtens by one point, to now lay claim to the record points-scoring haul in a Bledisloe contest.
Mehrtens' 29-point effort came in the 34-15 win in 1999, also at Eden Park. It didn't feature a try, but rather one conversion and nine penalties.
Allan Hewson managed 26 in Auckland in 1982, while the top Australian mark is Matt Burke's 24 in Melbourne in 1998.

Barrett is the first Kiwi to bag four tries in a Bledisloe, and equals the efforts of Australia's Greg Cornelsen, from 40 years ago at Eden Park.
The 25-test Wallaby No 8 had never scored a try in his previous 12 tests, and wouldn't go on to score any in his final 12, but for one standout day in Auckland in 1978, he somehow managed to be in the right place at the right time to score four times, in a 30-16 victory.
There are four other Bledisloe hat-tricks, all by Kiwis in winning efforts - Ian Kirkpatrick (Sydney, 1968), Joe Rokocoko (Sydney, 2003), Doug Howlett (Auckland, 2005) and Ben Smith (Sydney, 2013).

That was Frenchman Didier Camberabero, with three tries (four-point value) and nine conversions in a 70-12 romp against Zimbabwe in the 1987 World Cup.
Mehrtens' haul of 29 in 1999 has him third, while he also sits fourth, with 28 against Canada in 1995.

Barrett's haul is one of 11 occasions where an All Black has touched down four times in a test.
