華男割喉殺母「她過了好一陣才死去」
65歲的華裔女子陳寶拉(Paula Chin，姓名皆為音譯)日前被發現遭割喉並被棄屍，最大嫌疑人為其22歲的兒子吳傑瑞(Jared Eng)；根據7日的法庭信息，警方通過吳傑瑞與女友通話紀錄中說「她過了好一陣才死去」的信息，判定他就是弒母兇手，將其逮捕並控罪。
據悉，吳傑瑞很有可能是因為過世的父親遺產問題與母親產生糾紛，陳寶拉打算停止對其金錢資助，而慘遭殺害。
吳傑瑞在接受警方質詢過程中，表示自己從1月31日起就沒有見過母親，但否認將其殺害，並表示自己之所以回到新澤西的住所，是為了拿他收藏的硬幣，希望變賣成現金來交房租。
根據起訴書，吳傑瑞上月31日駕駛母親陳寶拉的2004年灰色豐田車
流行購買，在她位於新澤西摩利斯鎮(Morristown)和曼哈頓翠貝卡Vestry街的兩處住所間來來回回，並在當日早上將母親屍體用黑色垃圾袋包裹，丟棄在新澤西住所。
警方日前表示，4日接到報案稱陳寶拉失蹤數日，最後被看到時是在其位於翠貝卡的住所內；5日在新澤西摩利斯鎮(Morristown)陳寶拉擁有的另一處房屋的垃圾堆裡，發現她被裝在黑色垃圾袋中的屍體，用來運送屍體的車子則停在翠貝卡住所附近。
吳傑瑞和其21歲的女友Caitlyn O’Rourke及另一名18歲女子Jennifer Lopez被控藏屍罪。
根據起訴書，Lopez承認自
最新出版介紹己幫忙清潔犯罪現場，及幫忙運送屍體，並發送短信給O’Rourke告訴她發生的事情，說「現在一切都乾淨了」；根據監控視頻，Lopez在翠貝卡住宅外與另一人從樓內拉出一個被鮮血浸染的行李袋，放在汽車後備箱內。
而O’Rourke在被告知實情經過後，也同意幫忙處理屍體及消滅犯罪現場的證據。
根據「紐約每日新聞」報導，吳傑瑞在6日被捕後，一直否認自己弒母行為，說「我很愛她，她給了我一切」；而7日上午三名被告在曼哈頓的州高等法院過堂時，O’Rourke一度落淚。根據她與吳傑瑞的通話紀錄，吳傑瑞承認自己殺害了母親，並說「她過了好一陣才死去」。
「紐約每日新聞」指出，三名被告相識多年，三人是情侶關係。
法官7日裁定吳傑瑞收押且不得保釋，O’Rourke和Lopez也都被關押，保釋金額分別為5萬元和10萬元。

國民黨將提名楊文科選竹縣長 明常會通過
國民黨新竹縣長人選難產，國民黨組發會主委李哲華今天(12日)表示，中央提名協調小組決議明天向中央提名審核委員會建議提名新竹縣副縣長楊文科參選新竹縣長，並送明天中常會通過。楊文科獲提名後，國民黨在全台22縣市的參選人就全部底定。
國民黨內爭取新竹縣長提名者眾多，原先決定以全民調決定人選，不過，傳出民調最高的立委林為洲不受地方支持，中常會5月30日便通過中常委姚江臨等人提案，撤銷原本的決議，授權中央提名協調小組研訂策略處理提名相關事宜。
李哲華12日受訪時表示，5月30日中常會決議後，中央提名協調小組隨即於6月1日到新竹縣聽取新竹縣長邱鏡淳、新竹縣議長張鎮榮、黨籍縣議員、鄉鎮市長、鄉鎮市民代表會主席、村里長聯誼會會長及社團領袖等意見，之後也多次到新竹縣徵詢地方意見領袖，評估各種因素後，考量輔選、未來黨務發展布局，中央提名協調小組上午開會決議建議提名楊文科參選新竹縣長。
至於外傳國民黨提名楊文科是為了與民國黨新竹縣長參選人徐欣瑩進行二階段整合，李哲華表示，這是假新聞。
面對年底新竹縣長選舉，民進黨已確定由新竹縣前縣長鄭永金之子鄭朝方出馬，民國黨主席徐欣瑩也加入戰局，但國民黨人選之前遲未敲定。國民黨內有意角逐者眾多，包括立委林為洲、新竹縣副縣長楊文科、新竹縣議會副議長陳見賢、湖口鄉長林志華與竹東鎮長徐兆璋等5人。
