　I have walked out in rain-----and back in rain.
　我曾走入雨中－－－又從雨中回來．
I have outwalked the furthest city light.
我曾把最遠的街燈走盡．

　I have looked down the saddest city lane.
　　我曾下訪最悲慘的巿巷．
I have passed by the watchman on his beat
　　我曾走過巡更人的身邊
And dropped my eyes, unwilling to explain.
　　而低垂我眼，不願開腔．
