尼克球星「甜瓜」Carmelo Anthony在29日客場出戰老鷹時因為惡性犯規遭到驅逐出場，賠了夫人又折兵，尼克歷經延長賽後以98比102不敵老鷹。
事件發生在第二節剩下3分多鐘時，Anthony和老鷹前鋒Thabo Sefolosha在籃下卡位相當激烈，Anthony先以左手將Sefolosha「鎖喉」，接著右手順勢往Sefolosha臉上揮去，Sefolosha相當生氣地上前推了Anthony一把，2人並持續有言語上的衝突。
裁判在審視影片後判Anthony二級惡性犯規、奪權出場，Sefolosha則被判一次技術犯規。「甜瓜」此役出賽15分鐘，拿下10分5籃板。
失去招牌得分手的尼克並未放棄比賽，靠著Derrick Rose和Kristaps Porzingis聯手，尼克一直和老鷹互有拉鋸，Rose在正規賽終了前有贏下比賽的機會，可惜突破上籃未進，只得加班延長。
延長賽最後關鍵時刻，老鷹靠著Sefolosha成功將球從Rose手中抄走，加上Dennis Schroder和Paul Millsap穩健罰球命中，成功擺脫尼克糾纏、鎖定勝局。
總計Rose本場比賽拿下26分，賽後他認為即使Anthony退場，也不能當作輸球的藉口：「我們還是擁有贏球的機會，是我搞砸了。」
Porzingis拿下24分，老鷹以Schroder攻下27分表現最佳，Dwight Howard則有16分22籃板的優異成績。
Sefolosha在賽後表示：「他（Amthony）直接一拳打在我臉上，我很高興裁判有做出正確的判決。」
至於Anthony則在賽後直接坐上球隊巴士離開，不願對此事件做出任何評論。
