Social Media

With therefore much interest in how social networks function, one begins to wonder if there is marketing potential within these social networks?

There has been a virtual explosion of social network web sites before few years. Even the large players like Google, Yahoo and MSN are getting into it.

With therefore much curiosity about how social networks work, one begins to wonder if there is marketing potential within these social networks?

I have been seeing social networking for quite a while now. The truth is I'm a member of various social networking internet sites including https://www.linkedin.com and http://www.myspace.com/ just to name two.

I joined partly because I wanted to see what these were, but more to the point to see what influence social network would have on SEM in-the coming years.

I have been a part of numerous ser-vices for a while and the reach these sites have is extraordinary. Be taught more on our favorite partner article - Click here: visit link.

For example, from my LinkedIn network of eight people I've an extended network of over 12,600 people.

Imagine that - I'm merely a click or two away from close to 13,000 other people who share my similar interests ranging from what I like to watch o-n TV to work I can give to them.

Through my connections and their connections, I'm attached to people ranging from the American Cancer Society, to Sun Microsystems to the University of Texas to Google.

But what advertising possibilities are there for Social-networking?

Well, let us have a look at MySpace. My mom discovered this site by browsing webpages.

MySpace is one of the top sites on line today. I-t racked up 9.4 billion page-views in August 2005 (over Google) and new users are signing up at a mind-boggling rate of 3.5 million a month. Discover further on our partner use with - Hit this hyperlink: in english.

MySpace is typical of where todays 18-30 year-old goes to manage their electronic life. I-t allows users to post photos of themselves and their friends, create a weblog, list their favorite bands, view and share videos, suggest things you can do and lists a set of people they consider friends. It's on this 'Friends List' where all the opportunities lie.

All forty million-plus consumers of MySpace have a friends page that lists people that person considers their friend. This really is a list of people who they're interested in reading from on a normal basis, in addition to talking to and about. They can send you messages, discuss your photographs, read your blogs, as well as abandon messages that you can then tell the others once you add somebody as your friend. This really is the opportunity for instant feedback about you.

The capability to include friends to your page is critical for advertising to MySpace people. According to Courtney Holt, mind of new media and strategic advertising at Interscope Records, 'This technology is growing up with out ever viewed programmed media. 'They do not think in terms of-the record, and they don't think in terms of the TV schedule. They think with regards to TiVo, P2P, AOL, and naturally MySpace.

You can view how this might develop.

Let us say you develop a MySpace account to share your product or service. You blog about any of it and seek out the others which could share your interests.

Afterward you invite them to be your friend. If they become a friend you begin your 'gentle sell' pitching your solution in their mind.

As they grow to appreciate it, they begin blogging and discussing it. Soon thousands or even thousand of people are talking about you and your product or service.

Don't think this can work?

I want to give some examples to you. There are numerous companies who have gotten their start MySpace. By just hosting some of their music on line and blogging about themselves they created a following. Soon they'd record deals and contracts lined-up.

Of course to work with ser-vices like MySpace you need to get anything this target audience needs. If you don't then you probably shouldn't put too much energy in to MySpace.

But that will not mean other social network opportunities must be ignored. LinkedIn is more of a specialist introduction service, when i mentioned previously. If your products or services meets here then by all means examine it further.

And there are others as well. To get one more perspective, consider peeping at: asea salt lake city. Services such as Yahoo!s MyWeb, Flickr, http://del.icio.us and more.

When you have ever wondered what other online opportunities could be available, con-sider social media. It may be another great internet marketing channel..
